Dan Keefe is the Assistant Division Chief for Address Content, Coverage, and Geospatial Reference Data in the Geography Division at the U.S. Census Bureau, where he leads a staff of over 50 employees across 4 branches in the implementation of data science methods, machine learning, and automated change detection, and the on-going update and maintenance of the

Census Bureau’s Master Address File.

Prior to his current role, Dan served as branch chief of the Spatial Data Update Branch in Geography Division, where he implemented the 2020 Census In-office Address Canvassing Operation and developed and implemented batch and interactive applications for updating features in the Census Bureau’s Master Address File/Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing, or MAF/TIGER System.

Dan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Geography from East Carolina University, a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from The George Washington University School of Business, and is an Excellence in Government Fellow.
